A trail camera, also known as a wildlife camera, is a waterproof, motion activated camera used to capture images and videos of animals in their natural habitat. These cameras are designed for outdoor use and are used for wildlife monitoring. Thanks to trail cams it’s now possible to observe wild animals day or night such as foxes, deer or wild boar. The Braun Scouting Cam Black575 features a 5MP CMOS sensor for high-quality day and night shots. The recordings can be saved on a micro SD memory card (max. 256GB). In addition, the game camera also has a micro USB slot for connecting to the PC and an AV connection for connecting to the TV.

The exact resolution of the photos and videos can be set like numerous other parameters via the integrated control panel and the 2" TFT LCD color display. The recordings can also be conveniently viewed on the color display. The video resolution can vary from 4K (at 10fps) to 2.7K (at 20fps), 1080p, 720p or 480p (30fps each). The image resolution can be changed between 48 to 1MP. The Braun Scouting Cam Black575 has three different sensitivities of the PIR motion sensor with a detection angle of 120 degrees, a trigger distance of up to 20 meters and a trigger time of just 0.5 seconds.

In addition, the Black575 has an integrated microphone, password protection, a time-lapse mode, and an indication of date, time, moon phase and temperature. Videos can be recorded from three seconds to ten minutes in length. Thanks to a mounting strap, the robust and dust and water-protected (IP65) trail camera can be easily attached to the desired location. The operating temperatures range from -20°C to +70°C. The standby time is around six months. Power is supplied by eight AA batteries or optionally via a 6V 1.5A power supply.
